Girl you are such a hoot! It's fun hearing your voice on there! Cute house...that backyard is HUGE! :-)

Regional question for ya...Do many people in AZ have grass? I know Julie mentioned that they would be landscaping soon, but it doesn't seem to be as much of a priority there with people. Here, people can't stand to not have sod laid down ASAP. Just curious. :-)

Good question Addie...most homes have rock or dirt! And, if they do landscaping it's called desert landscaping. There are a lot of people that will put a small patch of grass in the front yard but it is never up against the house. There is usually 4 - 6ft of rock around the grass first with curbing or brick. I've asked why and the answers I get vary. The main reason is that it's not good for the foundation of the house to have grass up against it because you have to water it. I've also heard due to termites they just put rock. Not too mention it was a whopping 105 degrees here yesterday and it's only May. If you did have all grass being here in the desert it would cost you a fortune to water it.

Your right our backyard is huge and if we wanted to landscape it with grass, plants, trees, rock etc. it would probably cost around $11,000 to do so. So not going to spend that when we're selling it. So, I probably gave way more info. on your question but I find this topic fascinating out here.

One more thing I forgot...the soil or sand here is awful. When they landscaped from the yard which is all rock (just like every other house on the block), they had to use a jack hammer just to put the plants in. Imagine that? :)
