I guess I've done scarier things

Can I just tell y'all I agreed to buy a house today "sight unseen".

Yes ma'am. After months of house shopping I found one online that I really liked so hubby flew to Dallas this weekend to scope it out. The only thing I've seen is the pictures on the Internet.

Scary, I know!

Although, I have to give a big kudos to my hubby for deciding to take one of my close girlfriends by the house and have her describe IN DETAIL to me exactly what the house looked like over the phone. Interesting, daring but a whole lot of fun!

Needless to say, if everything goes as planned we should be back in Texas by the end of next month. And the best part... I agreed to drive back to Texas as a family instead of spending lots of money on airfare.

And, oh can I just say I cannot wait for the two day drive with: 'Type A' hubby, one talkative preschooler, one loud toddler, a 45 lb. hairy mut, and an anxious Jack Russell...

...oh the thrill of it all!!

Wow. You are one brave girl. I hope it is great! I hope the drive will be surprisingly pleasant. Our marathons with the kids actually haven't been too bad. Of course, no little one in our family - and no dogs.

I am so excited for you. We were Texans in exile in AZ for four years. We lived in Surprise, but now have moved back to our beloved state of Texas and euphoria. We also bought our house over the internet. This was our second house to do this way. This one we did have built. We are in Boerne, just NW of San Antonio

Enjoy!

Well, I think the pics did a good job and it will be just fine. And think, by the time you get here the weather will be soooo nice. Next week for instance, the highs are in the 70's. Edmond? Like 50's and 60's. Boy how I am missing the early spring!!!

Glad it's all working out!

Oh I see adventure girl..adventure =)

Thank you for your sweet comments on my site. I did not know there were still some complications. Have you asked about Drs in the area you are moving to?

Blessings.

I'm so excited for you. I'm sure the house will be lovely.
The best thing my son and daughter-in-love ever did for those long rides in the car with their five children is to get a video thingy. The kids sit mesmerized for hours watching movies.
Have a wonderful sunday.

Congratulations, T! You're braver than I am. Although, I packed up my house in AZ and drove cross-country to GA with NO house on this end! Had to house-hunt for a week and wait with the kids (& dog) at my in-laws house in Missouri for three more weeks until closing!

I'm really happy for you and your family! Keep us posted!

You are a brave woman with the house thing. Pretty clever to have your friend describe it on the phone, though. I hope you LOVE it!
Thanks for popping over to my site. And good luck with your move back to the BEST STATE OF ALL! :)

That is scary. But fun! You'll be able to come to the next blogging event in Dallas with no problems. (not that i know of one, but I started reading your blog when you were thinking of coming to the last one and then couldn't.)
Happy to have you living close!

That's takes some courage, T! I'll be praying for an easy car trip and lots of family fun together... it could happen : )

So glad you're getting to go back home finally!!

Oh, how exciting! As we contemplate whether or not to make a move for a job offer that Oronzo has received, we've been looking at houses on-line as well. There's one that I absolutely adore and I would buy it sight unseen (well, I'd probably send my sister over to look for me, since it's in her neighborhood) but we have this little issue of selling our current house first. :)

Please, do share some pictures!

Theresa,

I am genuinely SOOO thrilled for you ALL! Congratulations on selling the house here, on getting to go HOME to Texas, and on buying a new house sight unseen. We did a fourteen hour car trip to Lubbock over Christmas, and it was an adventure, but the portable DVD player saved our life. :)
Blessings to you on your new season of life in Texas - welcome home! :) Blessings -

How exciting! How fun! And I'm probably crazy, but I think the two day drive sounds like a blast. I mean, you've craved this move forever and now it's happening. What could be more fun that that?

We have made those drives--3 or 4 times (two cross country moves--but one return trip we flew, I think). Mostly it was because of the DOG I think. My man thought that the dog should be able to ride. . . . The move 2 years ago (away from TX) almost killed my newborn son. Not literally, but after 4 days in the car, he was not a happy guy. Congrats!

So you're finally moving back. Congratulations. I, too, will be waiting to see the pictures. Honestly, I need to move just so I can go through everything and toss about 3/4 of it.
