The Tinkerbell party was a hit
The pixie dust, the makeup, the cake, the pizza, the games and her little friends was just more than what a little girl could ask for! The party was a hit. The girls were sprinkled with pixie dust upon arrival and then the first hour was spent playing at the make-up table.
The little fairies were busy applying body glitter, nail art, glitter tatoos, glitter polish, lip gloss and wearing beads, rings and princess dresses and crowns.
The next event was eating cheese pizza with fairy fizzy juice! We decided next to dive into the Tinkerbell cake with buttercream frosting and vanilla ice cream. We then moved unto the fairy pretzel wands!
After a little playtime and dressing up we moved back into the dining room to fix Tinkerbell's broken wand. The girls played 'Pin the star on the Wand'.Finally, Sissy ripped into the presents faster than a tornado and off to the playroom again for some more play. Each guest went home with a Tinkerbell goodie bag, a fairy wand, and a lip gloss ring. It was a great time and Sissy can't stop talking about it. She has played with her new gifts ALL day today. And, Victoria's favorite part of the party besides her friends of course was her cake! She asked upteen times if she could show her friends the cake when they arrived. Considering I had to think this up by myself I thought it turned out pretty cute.*I've I uploaded a lot of pics for our family members who are out of state and couldn't attend.

Pixie Dust and all that stuff
As usual I am a day late and a dollar short over here at Bullfrogs & Butterflies but yesterday Sissy turned the big "4". I know, I know some of you are saying I thought it was the big five? But, for me four is just as big at the next one. You see this means that my first born is no longer a toddler but is officially now a pre-schooler and will start real school in less than a year away. And quite frankly, all of that just makes me a little sad.
So this week we have been busy getting ready for the Tinkerbell celebration on Saturday. We got the decorations, made and stuffed the goodie bags and the cake is baking as I type. And, I need to figure out how I'm going to decorate the whole thing so it's "Tinkerbell-ish"? Plus, we still need to finish up Never Land by making the fairy wands and setting up the game stations. Pixie dust and glitter is getting every where.
Just to put a spin on things, a realtor called for a showing just after I put Sugar down for what was suppose to be a long nap and Tinkerbell was taking over my home.
But oh no, I'm not complaining, really I'm not. I'll take a showing anytime of the day or week!
Oh and the point to this whole post...I wanted to take a minute out of our busy schedules and say I hope Sissy has a...
"Fairy Happy Birthday"!
I love you sweetie, you are the twinkle in my eye. :-) Lots of hugs and kisses, Mommy.

The Maker's Diet
Considering I am a "non-reader" or at least a non-reader of fiction I do on occasion (okay, maybe once a year) I will read a book. Most of the time it is a self-help, self-improvement, self-?, k, catch my drift?
Anyhoo, I just recently finished The Maker's Diet book by Dr. Jordan S. Rubin. It's a book about Dr. Rubin's personal journey from sickness to health based on a health plan described by our Maker (God) by what is written in the Bible and that has been tested by science. I was impressed to see that many suggestions/statements he gave were backed up by scripture.
Has anyone else read this book?
I'm not much of a book critic but I did enjoy the book a lot. And, I'm not sure I agreed with everything single thing that was written, especially in the chapter titled, How to Get Sick: A Modern Prescription for Illness, but he did make some very good points and I learned A LOT, about our bodies and what the Bible says about health.
Oh yeah, the reason for the post. I was wondering for those of you who have read it if anyone has tried his "Clenzology" program or Probiotics with HSO's, etc? I'm sure there is some money to be spent here but just curious if anyone had actually tried them.

Oh the Techie-ness!
It's in our genes, blood, and now kids. Since my new running schedule has picked back up DH bought me the new Nano (to replace the 'oh so heavy' Mini iPod *laughter*) Well, at least when you're running it's a lot to haul around. :-)
Anyways, as if we weren't geeky enough already, is it terrible that the Apple Store is now an official designated place for "family time"? Or, that when you say the word 'apple' your children automatically think we're off to the store instead of thinking of that oh so delicious fruit?
And really...is seventeen months old too young to know what a mouse is? I mean the kind without the cheese? :-)
Gotta love ya some family time!

Little Secret
Where art thou T-Lo? I'm still here and alive...let's see what have I been doing?
Well, let's just say I've been decorating our home to make it more "homey" the next time we have a showing . So we've added some curtains, I made the maroon curtains in the dining area, and unpacked about 20 boxes in John's "suppose-to-be" office and put it together for him. That's one more pretty room in the household and well, you know, taking care of Sissy and Sugar 24/7.
I'll also let you in on a little secret I've been keeping.
Over the last 12 months I've been a little less than stressed with the whole move (a new baby at the time), not being able to exercise, missing my church, my family, my friends, blah, blah, blah. And due to all the change/stress in my life, I haven't been making the best food choices nor exercising. (= weight gain, just in case you forgot.)
So the cat is out of the bag so-to-speak. I've been spending my time trying to get back into shape. I've been doing some exercise to help lose some unwanted pounds, during the time I would normally blog!
I know, I think this is against blog etiquette or something. :-)
In the old days, back in Texas I would just play on a women's soccer league and that would be the end of it. If anyone knows me at all, exercising is a big part of me. I've exercised since I can remember usually running, golf and playing soccer were a big part of my life. Since the move (and two kiddos) that has not been the case.
Because I don't want to be distracted during the times I am suppose to be working out (like blogging), I've decided to keep the griddy details off my blog. I know y'all are SO disappointed! :-)
In short, this is where I have been. So without further a do I thought I would post some pics of all my hard work. Because a picture is worth a thousand words right?
*Excuse the far away shots but I couldn't get the light right.

Artist maybe?
First you should know that I can copy pretty much anything and it actually looks like the object I copied. But drawing something from the top of my head is like non-existent. On the other hand, my older sister and brother are pretty good at drawing. With that being said, I think Sissy may have inherited one of their genes at the ripe age of three.
Here is a picture I thought I would share that she drew this morning for her Daddy (of course)! Now if any of your little ones watch Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends this may look a little familiar or maybe not. :-)
Mind you, this was done without copying anything but simply from memory.
Here is who she drew starting from top left to right...
Shimmer, Dragon, Shelly (the little pink snail in the corner), Miss Spider, Wiggle, Pansy, Snowdrop and Squirt. And no, I did not know all their names I had to ask Sissy who they were. She also let me know that she still has to draw Bounce and Holly.
I asked her what the red thing was up in the sky and she said, "that's an email". :-)
This one is definitely a keeper!

Works-For-Me-Wednesday
Is your food going stale in your pantry? Does your vegetables get freezer burn? Are your chip bags popping open and getting stale?
Well here is my solution...Twixit!
At least that's what The Pampered Chef calls them. I call them life savers! I use them on everything that doesn't Zip-lock close. I use them in cereal boxes, crackers packages, potato chip bags, frozen vegetables, etc. They are a complete life saver and their cheap too! I just recently found a bag of 30 for $2.99 at IKEA. I almost bought TWO bags just to have some for back up! Anyways, these are a must-have. They save you money too because they keep your food fresh.
They WORK-FOR-ME! :-)

Missing Mama + Busy Daddy + Hungry 3 - year old
While mama was away, Sugar was sleeping and Daddy was working, Sissy decided that she wanted lunch. So she went upstairs to Daddy's office and asked him if he could fix her lunch. Hubby says he kind of "brushed her off" and she went back downstairs. Then, he says about 20 minutes later Sissy came back upstairs to Daddy's office and says, "Daddy I made you a bologna and cheese sandwich?"
Sidenote...this little lunch is Daddy and Sissy's favorite lunch together. A 'healthy' bologna and cheese sandwich with mayonaise and a side stack of Pringles!
So, hubby says when he finally came downstairs she had made them two bologna and cheese sandwiches (torn in halves) with mayo and some chips on paper plates! Needless to say, Daddy's heart completely melted at that point.
Hubby says when he came to the kitchen Sissy said, "See Daddy, I made you lunch and I didn't even hurt myself!"
Now I on the other hand, found it a little scary that my 3 -year old daughter attempted to use a butter knife unattended, actually climbed in the refrigerator for all the fixin's, found the Pringles in the pantry and is unharmed!
Oh, the things little girl's will do for their Daddy's. :-)

Sissy and Sugar

Works-For-Me-Wednesday
Today's tip of the day is brought to you by a sleep-deprived mama and a 3-year old early riser. My first daughter (which now I'll be referring to as Sissy) has always been up at the crack of dawn since she was born.
Her famous phrase in the morning is "Mom get up, it's light outside"!
And, now since we're living in the 'Valley of the Sun' this had now started at sunrise every morning around 5:20am!
So last night we had a little chat...I told Sissy that just because she is up the rest of the house does not need to wake up, including little sister (who now I'll be referring to as Sugar). So I continued to tell her that she could go downstairs get her juice, watch TV, color, etc. until the rest of us woke up. Then she sadly replied, "I can't get the juice it's too heavy". So here goes thy tip: I made a sippy cup before I went to bed and left it in the refrigerator along with a yogurt on a shelf she could reach.
Sidenote, as of yesterday Sissy learned how to turn on her show with the TiVo remote. As she so proudly screamed about yesterday. I think it went something like this...
"Mom I did it!" I turned on the TiVo, looked for the "C" (Clifford the Big Red Dog) and turned on my show! I did it all by myself!"
As Addie would say, "Can I get an Amen?"
Needless to say, this morning I woke up at 7:02 when Sugar was ready to get out of her crib! Yep, so if you want to sleep in tomorrow...prepare your sweeties choice of drink, breakfast the night before AND by all means teach them how to turn on the TV!
Wha-la an instant extra hour of sleep. :-)

My mama's a procrastinator!
My mama's friend Addie tagged her for ME (pseudo name - Sugar) do this meme and she's JUST now telling me about it! Well it could of been because Grandma was in town vistiting? Or maybe because she was busy talking to all those people she calls 'realtors'? Then again, maybe it's because she was busy exercising ? Or, maybe it was because she was doing laundry? No cooking? Whatever the reason, now that I know what I'm suppose to do here it goes. Now, I know I'm only 16 mos. old but I'm already a fast learner...read and see!
3 Things that scare me:
1. The F-16 fighter jets that fly over my house ALL day! They are SO loud.
2. When my sissy makes dinosaurs noises and chases after me!
3. When my dog Smokey barks while I'm napping. I always wake up screaming because I'm so scared!
3 People who make me laugh:
1. My sissy, when she acts really goofy and makes weird noises.
2. My mommy, when she bounces me on her lap and sings, "This is the way the ladies ride".
3. My daddy, when he holds me on his hip and chases the dogs around the house.
3 Things I Love:
2."Baa-pack" (Mom inserting here: Dora the Explorer)
4."Baa-pack"
5."Baa-pack"
4. My Binky.
5. Daisy (my other dog).
...oops! Was I only suppose to list three, sorry! :-)
3 Things I Hate:
1. When mommy doesn't turn on the DVD player in the car when we're going somewhere. Specifically, Baa-pack.
2. When mommy says I can't have a popsicle everytime I ask for one. Afterall, it's just flavored frozen water, right? My screaming fit lying on my back and kicking my feet doesn't do the trick either.
3. Milk
3 Things I don't Understand:
1. Being told I can't go outside...when it's only 114 degrees!
2. Why the dogs can eat the food in the shiny silver bowl and I can't?
3. Why picking up dog poo is a no-no. Mama picks it up all the time with that little rake and shovel. I just want her to know it's easier and faster if you just use your hands!
3 Things on my Floor:
1. My binky.
2. The books from my shelf. It's so fun to throw them all on the floor and watch mom pick them up.
3. My sippy cup.
3 Things I'm doing right now:
1. Trying to sleep in my crib.
2. I just woke up because I can't find a binky and my nose is a little stuffy. Darn new teeth...who said we needed them anyways!
3. I'm back sound to sleep...mama picked me up gave me a bink and took me in her room for a few minutes until I fell back asleep. Isn't it amazing I can type in my sleep?
3 Things I want to do before I die:
1. Learn Spanish so I can talk to Dora when I meet her!
2. Figure out how to do BOTH buckles on that darn booster seat! And then how to unbuckle them.
3. I want to jump over the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs like Sissy does!
3 Things I can do:
1. Tell you before I go poopy, then run to the potty (...to be continued.)
2. I can turn on the DVD monitor in the car AND turn on the TV with the remote.
3. Open a container of yogurt and actually use my spoon while holding the cup. This had taken tons of practice but I can do it now!
3 Ways to describe my personality:
1. Social butterfly...I wave to all strangers.
2. Strong-willed...I know exactly what I want and when I want it.
3. Verbalizer... (mom says that's not a word!) but, I can say lots of words to get what I want. Kind of goes with that whole strong-willed thing again doesn't it?
3 Things I cannot do:
1. (continued...) Go poopy on the potty even when I know I have to go. I can't help it, I just get so distracted by that Dora seat. It's so much more fun to look at it, then sit on it. I'd much rather go poo next to the potty on the floor so I can gaze at Dora.
2. Comb Sissy's hair nicely. The noise of that plastic brush hitting her skull is far too interesting!
3. Sleep in the car if Dora is playing.
3 Things I Think you should listen to:
1. The washing machine, it makes great music and I love to dance to it! (Just like Mama did when she was little) ;-)
2. Dora's Dance to the Rescue Song - my Sissy sings it all the time for me.
3. My soft baby Pooh that I sleep with each night. He plays soft music, says night-night, and his pillow lights up in all sorts of different colors!
3 Things I Don't think you should listen to:
1. Screaming older children.
2. Any kind of jet or plane that attempts to fly over your house.
3. "Come here", I'd much rather watch Mama run and try to catch me!
3 Favorite Foods:
1. Mac-n-Cheese, please!
2. Grapes, because I LOVE to watch mama's face the next time she has to change my poo diaper!
3. Popsicles...I mean I do live in the desert and all!
3 Beverages I drink regularly:
1. 3 parts water, 1 part juice
2. Sissy's sprite.
3. Did I say juice?
3 Shows I watch:
1. Dora the Explorer
2. Dora the Explorer
3. Dora the Explorer
Some Babies I Want to Tag are:
1. Baby Seth
2. I'm also going to tag Natalie
3. And, little miss Meg
Gotta run, I'm slowly waking up again and I think my friends Tyle -n- Nol are calling me.
Nite-nite,
Sugar
